When e-scooters and dockless bikes began to rise in popularity, it left commercial real estate professionals with a lot of questions. BOMA International wants to answer a few of those questions and further the conversation around the new rise in dockless transportation. To that end, BOMA International has released a policy brief on “e-scooters and the micromobility trend”

This policy brief is not meant to provide all the solutions, but review key subjects regarding the new trend. The brief covers liability concerns, pros and cons of the new vehicles and action items going forward. With electric scooters in about 100 cities, including major cities in Georgia, it is imperative that a conversation begin between the micromobility manufacturers and commercial real estate professionals.

The growth of electric scooters and dockless bicycles has grown rapidly with 49 million more trips being completed in 2018 as compared to 2017. If these vehicles are going to continue to grow in use and popularity, it important that CRE professionals stay informed and active. BOMA International’s brief addresses the safety and liability concerns that many CRE professionals have expressed. In addition, it provides valuable positive attributes that could allow CRE professionals to better accommodate and plan for the new wave of transportation.

The brief is available for free. Please click the link below and begin the conversation about the new future of transportation:  https://boma.informz.net/BOMA/data/images/Policy%20Brief%20-%20E-Scooters.pdf
